You mentioned having three VBACs after your first c-section. I am curious, were all your births completely different experiences? I mean, were any of them easier? Oh, hell... what I really want to know is which is worse! Ha! I would love to try for a VBAC (if we were to get pg again) but I am scared I would find out the hard way that a c-section was easier!
Re: ::dkays::
Wow! This may be emotional overload remembering all 4 birth experiences today. My first 3 were all 2 weeks overdue but they induced with Miss T at 41 weeks because I had GD.
In my honest opinion, the C-section was the worst experience but it was over 20 years ago. I never dilated past a 1. The recovery was awful. I had a spinal so I was on my back for 10 hours after delivery. I still vividly remember the sadistic nurses in recovery that pressed mercilessly on my stomach. I won't forget the fear on my husband face either. My scar is an awful looking vertical thing on the outside but they went into the uterus horizontally. I was told they did this because based on a the sonogram she was over 11 lbs. She was 7 lbs 13 oz.
My first and second DDs are 6 year apart not by choice. It seems funny now but we used Clomid to conceive the 2nd. My last three were delivered by the same doctor and he is pro VBAC. My labor with the 2nd was managable. I got a epidural and had to push over 3 hours and tore pretty good but was still better than a c-section. She was born @ 8:30 pm and by 11 pm I was up and walking. The 3rd was an easier and faster delivery. Miss T had to be the best because I got an epidural before any major labor pains and only pushed for 10 minutes. Miss T and my oldest were the exact same size and my middle 2 were both 8 lbs 8oz.
Things have changed in 20 years because with my first I had a enema and was shaved. This is probably more than you wanted to know but 20 years ago we didn't have message boards to share our experiences with.
If you do have another, I hope you are able to try a VBAC.
Thanks!
