Sex?

Ok, I'm really opening up here!  I was reading around on other community boards and found that a lot of moms that had their kids in November (like me) are having sex like nobody's business.  I feel like a big loser because I am NOT at all!  I have a 21 month old and a 6 week old and by the time we get in the bed at night we are so tired we both crash hard.  Am I alone in this?  If so, send tips on how to open up the sex lines again....because it seems like we've not had sex in so long, it's somewhat awkward to bring it up again.

    Give yourself a break! You have a  6 week old! Im surprised youre even thinking about this! Maybe start by doing just sweet stuff, cuddling, massages, etc and see where it goes. GL!

    Most of them are probably exaggerating. This is a message board. People can say what they want.

    That all being said, DH and I DID have sex around 3-4 weeks PP after all 3 kids, but in NO WAY did we have sex "like nobody's business". It was gently and more for DH (since it had been a while). I don't enjoy sex while BFing AT ALL, and I EBF all 3 kids. For those years, I went through the motions so that our sex life wouldn't die a slow death! LOL!

    Maybe suggest massages and some cuddling at first - you might enjoy it. Ease into it.

    I'm not there yet, but I just wanted to say that things will probably work out just fine... it's on your radar and I am sure your DH will be receptive.  Maybe you could bring it up in conversation and let him know you are thinking about it?  He'll know it's on your mind, and then you can try to initiate cuddling, etc?  GL!

     

    BTW - I applaud you!  I had a rough delivery with DD#1 and DH had read that the 6 week mark was when the doc would okay it, but I was really hesitant.  Good for you!

    I'm not there yet either, but after C/S with DS, I wasn't in a hurry, but DH couldn't wait 6 weeks. We DTD a few times, mostly to satisfy him, but I felt closer and more intimate when we did. I know it will be exhausting throughout the day with 2, but it's my belief and it's been proven in our life, that a happy marriage (sex and all) leads to happy babies. Don't think you have to be back to your regular "sex routine", just take it easy.
