Connecticut Babies

mrs. doubtfire

i'm looking for my own mrs. doubtfire (minus the whole 'she is actually a man in disguise" thing.

I'm a work at home mom with a very mobile and energetic 8 month old.  i feel bad just leaving her in chairs or her pack n play all day. i'm looking for an experienced retiree who wouldn't mind coming over 3-4 times a week for a few hours a day.

no housework or cooking needed just come play with my daughter so i can get work done.

if any of you know anyone who may be interested, i'd be grateful!  i'm in East Lyme.

thanks!

Re: mrs. doubtfire

  • Hi!  my name is Kris and I live in Torrington.   I am in the same situation!  I have been pulling my hair out looking for a "nanny" type, who we can afford!  I was just wondering if you had any luck yet.

  • nada! i have a college girl that comes once a week but she's got class when i mostly need her.  frustrating!
  • Kris, I know someone from Torrington who is so great with kids.  She's not a retiree, she's in her mid 20s, and Has a child of her own.  She is beyond trustworthy and creative, gentle but firm in routines and consistency.  I know she just finished school for (I think nursing assistant) so I'm not sure if she is looking for nannying or is changing geers and looking only for nursing.  Let me know if you'd like me to ask her.
  • I know someone I call Mrs. Doubtfire...lol...but she lives in Hamden and I know that will be too far for her.  If I think of someone in your area I'll get back to you.  Good luck!
