I used to be a regular on thebump message boards when my husband and I started TTC in 2008. Now, 2 1/2 years later we went in for some testing because we accepted that we were having an issue and thought it was time to find out what's going on. Yesterday we both went in for testing. I had a HSG and everything came back clear. My husband had a SA and it came back with zero sperm in the sample.I'm in complete shock and it's extremely hard for us to process all of this. I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this? Any information would be very appreciated right now. Thank you!

Re: azoospermia
Oh man I'm sure after TTC for 2-1/2 years this is not the news you wanted to hear. I'm sorry.
I'm afraid I don't have any advice to offer, but wanted to say Good Luck. I'm sure some of the other ladies around here will have some advice for you.

I'm so sorry. That must have been quite the shock to hear after all this time.
I don't have any advice, other than to say that there is an azoospermia check-in on the IF board. I'm not sure what day it is on, but you can connect with some other women who are going through the same thing.
All the best and good luck

Hello!
First off, I'm very sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's a tough pill to swallow but I promise you it's not the end of your journey. We have the same diagnosis and as you can see in my siggy we now have 2 beautiful angels thanks to IVF.
I have tons of advise and info I can send you. Hopefully I'll get a chance to write it all up and I'll send you a PM soon. Please don't lose hope. There are alot of ladies dealing with this on the IF board. Definitely introduce yourself and take part in the check in. Lots of wonderful ladies there and TONS of success stories.
I am so sorry that you got this news. I do not have experience with azoo specifically, but I am positive that Omega is giving you great advice. There are a lot of women on the IF board that have gone through this and the check-in is a great place to see their success stories.
The only thing I would say is that our first step when we got MH's SA back was to schedule a second SA. It could be a problem with the handling of that sample or the transport if you brought it from home. I'd also schedule an appointment with a urologist specialing in infertility because they can help find out if there is an obstruction, etc.
Best of luck to you! Don't give up hope
We bagan the same time as you did and while not the same result it was still as shocking. My tests did come back fine but DH's were low sperm, .motility and morphology. When he heard this news he shut down for a while. It was increasingly challenging to talk about it and to this day he hasn't told his parents we are struggling to concieve. I posted something similar to your post in July and the best advice I got was to not give up. Explore your options and most of all be in this together because it can either break you or make your stronger. I am so sorry to hear about the test results.
Thank you all sooo much! I will definitely be checking out the azoo check-in on the infertility board.
And thank you sooo much Omega20! I'm going to talk more with DH and I'm sure we will have some questions for you. Thanks again!!!
Dear Beach17blonde
I too am going through the same thing. My husband knew before we met and i excepted the fact that we would never be able to have kids without using donor sperm. We tried several rounds of IUI with no success.
Has he gone through any surgeries? My husband had testicle surgery to see if there was any hope of sperm trapped somewhere....
Dont give up hope and faith.
We are now talking to friends and family(his side of the family) to see what they think and almost about 100% of them are willing to donate.
This Friday and Saturday we are going to attempt to conceive being that I'm schedule to O this weekend.
