Ugh. DS has the Flu :(

I spent 2hrs at the pedi last night to find this out. He's got the works, 104 fever, cough, runny nose, body aches, etc. Plus, he has asthma, so he's having a hard time breathing so we had to start round the clock Nebulizer treatments. I had to come in to work today for a half day so my exMIL is watching him for a few hours. I can't wait to get home to my poor sick baby.

And no, he didn't get the Flu shot. He's allergic to eggs so the pedi won't give it to him and his appt with the allergist isn't for 2 more weeks. Probably wouldn't have mattered anyway though. My oldest did get the Flu shot and still ended up with the Flu last week. I guess DD is next in line

Can he do the FluMist? DS did Flumist this year; I think it's good for 2-49.

 

Nope, can't do the FluMist either because of his asthma. Sigh.

Both of my boys are egg allergic. Thankfully, they have never reacted from the flu shot. Both my pedi and allergist agreed on the new research, that bc the vaccine changes each year, that there is no way to determine the amount of egg protein in the vaccine. My allergist said that its not going to be mandatory any longer for them to be done in the office. This is coming from the children's hosp of phila. Just an fyi. I know what a pain it is to get an allergy appt. Hope your lil guy feels better. Stay well
