Trouble TTC

moving forward with IVF

I talked to the IVF coordinator at my RE today and luckily AF's early arrival didn't mess anything up.  But, when things start moving, they are really going to be moving!!  I am going tomorrow for my consult and then I have to go back Thursday morning for my cd 3 u/s and b/w.

Then next Thursday I will have another SHG done and my mock transfer.  DH needs to have a SA and b/w as well.  Then on the 18th we have to meet with my RE to go over the test results and dicuss the procedures; the IVF coordinator to discuss the timeline and the financial people.  I do have some insurance and so the cycle should be covered, except for the cyropreservation, which is $1500.  One of my questions is what happens if you pay the fee and then there are no embryos that make it to freeze - I would hope that we would get our money back.

I ended up having to tell my boss b/c of all of the time I am going to need off.  He knew we were having issues TTC and about my losses.  He is being really great about me taking time off - coming in late and leaving early.

I also talked to my hemotologist and she said if my protocol is going to include BCP's that I will have to start taking lovenox at the same time to counter any possible blood clots.  When I told my coordinator that, she said when people have clotting issues, they sometimes don't use BCP's, but just start Lupron on CD 21.  So we'll see what happens I guess.

I am a nervous wreck right now!!!

  • Good luck, hon!  So great that you have a supportive boss.

It can be so nerve-wracking!  It helped me to take it one day at a time - just to focus on the next follie scan, blood work, appointment.  Once you start stims, all those appointments make it go by so fast!

Thanks!!  It is overwhelming.  I still need to get everything into my calendar - hopefully seeing it all laid out will make it easier to deal with.
