I just had a shower sitting down in the bathtub. Thank god for shower heads on long hoses.
For about a week now, I've been fighting off a cold virus of some sort, culminating in a massive migraine today. I'm allergic to tylenol, and my Dr. ix-nayed even regular strength advil, so I'm SOL when it comes to painkillers.
I also have a yeast infection coming on, so I felt gross, and HAD to shower, but I'm so dizzy and weak from the migraine, I couldn't even stand up long enough.
I see a new Dr. starting Friday, so I'm going to see if she has any other ideas on what I can do for pain management for the next 6 months...
Re: I hate not being able to take anything!
I'm sorry to hear that!
My doctor says that ibuprofen can be taken by most women in the second trimester. Ask yours if it is okay. Also some doctors say you can take certain types of Robitussin. Ask tou doctor if you can take some, which kind, or if there are similar options,
I hope you feel well soon. It's awful being sick...Just watch your temperature and if it hits close to 102 F, go to the hospital. A temperature this high is dangerous for the baby.
High five on the Tylenol allergy - I feel your pain!
I've been fortunate enough not to get sick yet, despite the fact that my SO hasn't felt well for weeks. But I did have to suffer through nasty morning sickness (it took me going to the ER to get something at first because I had no insurance) and then they gave me Phenergan and I was much better....but now second trimester it's heartburn & migraines galore! What's horrid about the heartburn is that I HAVE a Rx for something, but my insurance doesn't want to cover it, so I have to pull some strings, I finally caved last night and grabbed some OTC 24 hr because I couldn't take the burning anymore which will stay with me throughout the day and make it so I can't relax, lie down, or eat anything - much less get anything done!
The migraines I'm screwed on though - and I have a roommate with a bratty child who likes to stomp and yell all the time and lovely other amounts of noise from their part of the house which just make it worse. Best I can do is surround myself in darkness and as much silence as I can get and try to relax.
