crawling but not sitting??

My girls just started crawling with their bellies off the floor. They're not full speed but they're doing it!:) they seem like they try to sit they roll on their hip and push their selves up with one hand. If you put them in a sitting position they still can't do it yet. Is it normal for them to do this? Will they sit on their own soon??

Mine started rocking/scooting just after 6 months, and were full on speed-racer crawling around 7 months.  Riley didn't sit on her own until around 7 1/2 months and Nathan was right at 9 months when he finally decided he was ready to try it.  They could both tripod sit just before 6 months, but pretty much refused to even try to sit all the way up on their own until much later.

thanks! yes, mine started doing the rocking thing right around when they turned 6 months and were speed racer scooting at 6 1/2 lol...and they just now have figured out how to move the hands back and forth and they just turnt 7 months on the 2nd but they are still shaky...i love it though since the drs kept telling me they would be "behind" because they were early.

Mine are just starting to scoot backwards, but they can't sit up by themselves for more than a few seconds. I thought they would have by now, but they have zero interest in it.

Mine started crawling around 6 months, they would sit for a few seconds here and there, but only "really" started sitting at 8 months.
