Baby Names

Too 1950's???

I really like the name Cecilia, but my DH isn't 100% sold on it.  He suggested Roselyn, which is too similar to DD's name Jocelyn.

WDYT about Rosemary? I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Just a warning ladies, I'm very indecisive and I'll probably back for more feedback.

  • *Cecilia is ok

*BIG NO to Roselyn, only because of your DD's name.. way too matchy!

*I like Rosemary and it's very girly like yours DD's name

    Also;
    Rosemarie & Rosalie?

  • Actually i take back my previous post.. i noticed in your ticker that you call your DD Josie.. So I don't think you should choose a "Rose" name, just in case of the nn Rosie...

Josie & Rosie.. very matchy and would be confusing

  • Cecilia - s'okay...it's a good name, with a nice spelling and some nick name options if you're so inclined. I'm just not a fan of it personally.

Roselyn - like Rose Lynn? Or Roselin? Big fat no with your daughter's name.

Rosemary - I love this flower name (the herb can flower), and it's way underappreciated in my humble opinion. It's also in the 700s which means, while it's an easy to recognize and easy to pronounce name, she won't be one of three in her class.

  • I love Rosemary. It was my top choice for this baby before we decided on Hazel. I guess I like nature-y names. Stick out tongue

  • How about Celeste? Rosemary is better than Rosalyn bc of your DD.

  • I LOVE Rosemary! I think it's great! This, with the nickname Molly, topped my list for about a year :)

I like Cecilia quite a bit. I prefer Cecelia now, but I think they're both nice.

Roselyn, while pretty, is one I'd avoid next to Jocelyn. Too repetitive for me. Maybe Rosaline, Rosamund or Rosalie?

  • I don't care for Rosemary... I think of Rosemary's baby, but that's an old school reference. I DO, however, like Rosemarie. :)

  • I would veto any of the "Rose" names because of the Josie/Rosie nn issue mentioned by the PP.  Though, I do think Rosemary is a lovely name.
