I really should have asked my Dr about this today (went in because I think I have some type of infection... urinary or bladder), but I was spacing a bit. Anyone else have pain when they sit? Any fun explanations as to why this may be happening
I had occasional tailbone pain pre-pregancy that got worse with my first pregnancy. Tailbone pain is a normal pregancy complaint. Mine got worse the last 2 weeks and then excrutiating after I gave birth. I have heard you can actually break your tailbone in labor. None of the docs took me seriously and I honestly couldn't tell what exactly hurt, episiotomy, hemroids, tailbone... Turns out I had a pilonial cyst. It was so gross I will spare you the details but that was by far the worse pain I suffered in the whole child birth process.
ETA: Your growing uterus puts pressure on your tailbone which can cause discomfort. Circle pillows might help if you have to sit all day like at work. Hopefully it is not a cyst, it was horrible!
Oh my gosh yes! I've had it for about 3 weeks now. My mom and sister-in-law both say that it is the siatic nerve that is being compressed. One of my friends had this her whole pregnancy. I hope that's not true for me.

This is different from siatic nerve pain that I have had before. When my siatic nerve bothers me, it is more in my butt cheek on one side of my body. This is right in the middle at the base of my tailbone. Could that be siatic pain as well?
Me! I started having it probably over a month ago (i'm almost 18 weeks now); I didn't have it at all when I was pregnant before, so it was weird to feel so early on. very annoying!
I have had this pain for about a little over a year now. But it has gotten worse since I have been preggers. So I am assuming it is the extra weight, as I had put some weight on since I have been married. I cant quite explain where and why but I deffinitly feel it!
I just noticed this in the last week or so! I spend most of my time at work standing, but it's still hurts a bit. I was thinking about mentioning it to the doctor, but thought maybe it was a strange question. Not that I wish it on anyone, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one.
Re: Tailbone pain, anyone?
