VBAC

trying a VBAC after 2 c-sections

HI im trying to have another baby. this will be me and my husband's third and finally one. I had 2 c sections with both previous pregnancies. first one due to lack of fetal movement and 2nd was scheduled due to that fact that we didn't plan on more but things changed! i was wondering have any of you been allowed to even try labor after 2 c-sections and then been successful with the vaginal delivery?  thank you!

Re: trying a VBAC after 2 c-sections

  • I haven't, but I've read success stories from VBA2C and VBA3C mamas, so I know it happens. I hope you're able to find some of those stories too. :)
  • I'll be trying for VBA2C's sometime between now and late February. I'll let the board know how it goes! :)

FYI, I had to switch Dr's and Hospitals to even try VBAC.

  • I'm a VBA2C hopeful. It's definitely going to be a battle just to get the opportunity, but I'm currently at the only hospital in CT that does them, have a super supportive VBAC, midwives and even some dr's!

At the same time, I've prepared a c/s birth plan so hopefully it will be more "special" this time.

  • I have not had a VBA2C, but my very best friend did (and I have 4 other friends who have as well).

  • I had a VBAC for the shorter recovery time and health benefits to both of us. We aren't planning on any more children.
  • I am going for our 3rd child with a VBA2C. My dr was ok with it from the beginning. I had a c-section with my first due to fetal distress and with the second b/c it was too close to the first(only 51 weeks apart are our children). I am more scared of this birth than the other 2. I really hope its a successful one and that we can have our next one the same way. I wish you all luck and I hope you all do the same for me. Go VBA2C's!lol
  • Good luck and let me know how it goes. I just tried VBAC for my second child and my Doc was all for it until I hit 40 1/2 weeks I was slowly dilating and he did not want to wait. The morning I went in to have my baby they had me scheduled for a csection anyway so my doc would not even let me continue to labor. :( I wish I would have done more research on VBAC. I wish I would of stood my ground. But I thought my doc had my best interest in mind. He knew how much I wanted a VBAC. I know I want to have more children so I have started doing research now for my next child which I want to try VBAC after 2 csections. I would love to hear how your situation plays out. I can't find any information or statistics on the VBACs after 2 csections. People just keep telling me to get over it. :(
