I have checked out the FAQs and a lot of the websites that were recommended on here, but I still feel so lost!
I am looking for one size diapers that will last until the girls are ready to be potty trained. What are some of your favorite one size diapers?
I am also confused at the difference between pockets, AIOs, etc. For example, are FuzziBunz and BGs pretty much the same thing?
Thank you for your advice!
Re: Best one size diaper for 8 month olds
pockets = diaper you stuff with insert, lined with something soft like microfleece and after wet or poop you put entire diaper in diaper pail, comes in velcro/snaps
aio = looks similar to pocket but you don't stuff, major downfall is how long they take to dry, also dump entire thing in pail after use, snaps/velcro
prefolds = look like 'traditional' cloth diapers only you don't need to use pins and they are much more absorbent, close them with a snappi. these require a cover that you reuse, prefold gets wet or pooped on and goes in pail
fitted = serves similar purpose of prefold only very abosorbant, soft/squishy, usually has 'layers'and includes liners/snap in's that add absorbancy, these also require cover. they come with snaps, velcro or neither and you'd use a snappi. when changing you dump the entire fitted in pail but reuse cover
covers = these are made from the same material (PUL) as the outer part of a pocket or aio so they keep everything in when prefold or fitted gets wet/poopy. reuse cover all day unless it gets pooped on.
my fave one size are the bg 4.0 snaps but there are a ton out there. i prefer the fuzzibunz perfect fit medium and believe they will fit DS until he is potty training because he is still on the smallest setting and he is almost 20 lbs. but this is not necessarily true for every baby. you should do a trial from Jillian's drawers or something simliar to get a feel for all these varieties.
good luck!
