Re: i just ran into someone
Don't worry about it! Soon enough you'll be popping out into the world and no one will be able to ignore your belly!
I, on the other hand, saw a great aunt, who's in her 80's, over Christmas. She asked if I had gained any weight and I told her maybe 7 pounds and she said "I thought so, I could tell you've put on some weight." I was shocked because EVERYONE I talk to ~ who are just finding out I'm pregnant say they would never have been able to guess at all, that I look exactly the same.
I think it's just our hormones making us sensitive to comments either way. I say don't let it ruin your day!!
I thought I was starting to pop and gain weight and what does my doctor say? Gain more weight!
Don't worry...everyone is different. I bet you'll POP soon.
I'm sorry it made you feel bad... but don't let it! Everyone is different... and I think I'm in the same line of thought as Chelsea. (many people think that's what you want to hear.)
My mom didn't really start showing much until she was over 6 months... she teases me about how quickly I've shown with both of my pregnancies compared to her. (From her, I can take it, because I know she's just ribbing me.) But I have a different body type than she does. She's 5'6"- 5'7", and I'm 5' 2", and I'm smaller than she was at this age, not only in height, but in weight. She has a torso, and I don't.
Don't stress it, honey, really. You know that baby is in there, and that it's healthy... and before you know it, you'll have a nice ol' bump to show off!
A friend of mine was complaining that people couldn't believe she was so far along in her pregnancy that she did not look big at all. She was really bummed about it. When I saw her at her shower I said "Please don't take this the wrong way, but you most definitely look pregnant and you look exactly like where you should be.. anyone that says differently is crazy"! She smiled so big!
I think some women are afraid to say 'wow, you are huge' b/c that comes out wrong and most people don't want to hear that.. others want people to notice their bumps right away.. we are a tricky species.
