Josie was 17 pounds the beginning of Dec, so she's probably 18 or so now. Her car seat goes to 22. Would you put the convertible in the new car, or install the infant seat for another month or two?
Also, is there something similar to the bundle me for convertible seats? I'm assuming they won't fit on the convertible seats?
Re: wwyd--car seat
If you're still ok carrying the infant seat, I'd do that until the end of winter (or until she reaches the limit, whichever is first). Obviously remember that she may hit the length/height limit before the weight limit.
There IS a toddler BundleMe but it's not safe for car seats. It's designed more for strollers. It's too fluffy behind the baby and won't keep her as safe in the event as an accident (the straps can't fully tighten). Also, it'll void the car seat's warranty.
What she said.
ETA: We have a bundle me that we registered for and received but haven't used at all because I don't feel comfortable using it when it's not considered safe. We just use a blanket to make her snug in the infant seat (we don't use a coat either), and we keep a blanket in the car to cover her with as soon as we put her in the convertible seat. She seems to stay very warm with both options.
I do like using the convertible seat when it's super cold out so that we don't have to transfer her from the convertible seat though.
We used the infant seat as long as possible b/c we liked to carry Andrew in it.
If that isnt' important to you, then it probably doesn't matter. Although I think the convertible seats take up more room in the car.
Instead of a bundleme, we just put a fleece blanket on Andrew's lap when it's super cold.
