    I was both physically and emotionally abused by my ex-H.

    most women who are battered by their parter will not answer this type of question in a public online forum...they are trying to get by each day and survive. replying to this puts them at risk.

    the numbers are most certainly higher, unfortunately.

    My husband is amazing and would never do anything to hurt a hair on my head. But an ex-boyfriend was physically and emotionally abusive.  :(  Worst thing I've ever had to pull myself out of.  I'm ashamed I stayed as long as I did.
