anyone near Des Plaines??

I'm living in Norway at the moment, but will be moving back to Chicago in a few months. We have a 2 year old and a 5 month old and we're looking in to buying or renting in Des Plaines. We've always lived right downtown and now that we have kids, would like to live in the burbs and we've found great prices in the area. Does anyone know if there are lots of activities, centers, groups, etc. for kids. I'd love to get involved in a story time, music, gymnastics, etc. Can anyone tell me what would be here or in the close area? Thanks so much and looking so forward to moving home! yay!

I am in Des Plaines.  We have a pretty good park district.  The website is www.desplainesparks.org  you can check out the current programs there. My ds is only 2 months now, but I have seen some programs that I will start him on in as few as 4 months.  The library has story time during the day, the schedule is posted every month and may also be online.  Des Plaines also has the YMCA.  I don't know about the specific programs they have. There are also some moms groups on Meetup and things like that.
