Does anyone have a recommendation for an OB in downtown chicago - either in the Loop or North Chicago? Ideally I'd like to find someone affiliated with Prentice, but I'm open to all suggestions if you have someone great. Thanks!
I went to the Women's Group of Northwestern and saw Dr. Lui - she was really great, as were all of the doctors, especially as we had to go through a very difficult and sad pregnancy there. Their number is 312/440-3810 I think.
i've worked with many of the OBs in Chicago/suburbs...

heard good things about Michelle Luthringshausen
do NOT recommend:
Dr. Rumsey
Dr. Streicher's group
I went to NMPG (Northwestern Memorial Physician's Group - OBGYN). They are located in the Playboy Building (680 N. Lakeshore) in the Gold Coast. The group is affiliated with Prentice (are in the NW group). I've met just about all the doctors in the group, and they were all great. Some have a more sensitive "bedside manner" than others, but all that I met were knowledgable and made me feel comfortable. In fact, the only doctor I didn't meet was the one who delivered my DD, and she was great.
I've gone to Fariah DiPasquali for several years. She is affiliated with Northwestern. My best friend sees another doctor in the practice and had her two children while going to this practice. She has met most of the doctors throughout her pregnancies and liked them.
I go to NMPG- my current OB/GYN is Dr. Auger- she is great. I previously saw Dr. Garvey and also would recommend him.
All of NMPG doctors are on staff at Prentice.
My OB/GYN is Dr. Salasche. She is with The Northwestern Specialists for Women. Her office is located in River North on 900 N. Kingsbury. The offices are very nice and brand new - this group of doctors broke off from a larger group and formed their own practice in August so they just moved locations. I really like Dr. Salasche. I also wanted a doctor affiliated with Prentice. Dr. Salasche came very highly recommended from co-workers and friends. I also received positive referrals for the other 3 doctors with The Northwestern Specialists for Women. Let me know if you need anymore info.
I go to the Womens Group at NW as well and think they are great. I just found out I was pregnant last week, but they were my doctors for regular stuff and pre-conception help as well.
I love, love, LOVE and recommend Dr. Jean Walker (she delivers at Rush University Medical Center). She's truly a midwife practicing in an OB/GYN's body. She's all about the birth YOU want to have, is very supportive of natural labor (and birth plans) and is extremely patient and enjoyable. She even invited and assisted my husband to help "catch" our son during our birth (the resident physician just stood by and watched my DH have all the fun!).

I go to the Northwestern Memorial Physician's group located at 680 N. St. Clair on the 14th Floor. Most of the doctor's are really good....it really depends on what type of personality you're looking for. My main doctor is Dr. Judith Cothran but Dr. Lipscomb did my C-Section.
Re: OB/GYN in the Loop/North Chicago?
I'm with Schmoodle. Women's Group of NW is fantastic.
Dr. Kamel was my "main" doctor, but I saw almost all of the others and liked them all. Dr. Murthy delivered my daughter, and she was phenomenal.
I thought Dr. Lui was great too--for what it's worth.
