Trouble TTC

Confusing OPKs?

I'm on my second cycle of clomid (100mg). On my first cycle i never ovulated with 50mg. I don't chart my temps bc i work night shift 3 nights a week and it makes my temp do crazy things! So i've been using digital OPKs to watch for ovulation. I got negatives until CD21, when i finally got my first +OPK. after that they were negative again until CD29, 30, and 31 (today), which were all positive. I'm not sure what to think! Did i not ovulate on CD21 afterall and now i am having my LH surge? Is it ok to be ovulating so late in my cycle?

I should add that right now i only see an ob and he is not monitoring me AT ALL on the clomid. I've made an appt with an RE bc i think it's crazy not to be monitored but i can't get in until feb 14th! So i decided to finish this round of clomid with my ob and then move on to the RE. This infertility struggle is much harder than i anticipated!

Re: Confusing OPKs?

  • I'm sorry that I don't have too much to add... and good for you for seeking out the RE!  I will say, however, that on my first cycle on Clomid where I responded (I felt strongly but I also wasn't being monitored), I had 3 days of OPK later in my cycle (not as late as you... CD 17,18 and 19). I'd say you better get to it just to be safe ;-) GL!
