Clomid Challenge Test Question

So, I've been TTC for 10 cycles now.  During cycle 9 I did the Clomid Challenge Test.  I did not take Clomid this month (cycle 10), but changed brands of ovulation tests and got a positive ovulation test for the first time!

I got the results of my blood test at the doctor today and my hormones are excellent!  My progesterone is REALLY high (30 whatever that means).  But the test was on Clomid.

My doctor said its very safe and I should keep taking it, but I don't really see a reason to take it if I ovulated with out it.  Any thoughts?

I've  never heard of this. What's the Clomid Challenge Test?

Basically you take clomid for one cycle and have three blood tests done.  One test on day 3, another on day 10 and another on day 21.  Your hormone levels are tested.

I've heard that Clomid works similar to BCP in that it helps regulate your cycles and that you are typically very regular coming off it... but if there is an underlying "cause" causing you not to ovulate, that it will eventually kick back in if unmonitored.  I have no personal experience, however, as I have only done 1 cycle of the stuff, ovulated, and have been doing the Happy Dance for 7 days GL! Let us know what you find out!

I did the clomid challenge with my DD..  I only took it one month and got pg the next month without it (after TTC 12 months and wonky cycles... )    I wish it was that easy this go around!

Clomid can stay in your system for up to six weeks. You may have ovulated as a result from taking the clomid the cycle before.
