Traveling to NYC...help me out

DH and I are visiting my BFF in the city.  What airports can I fly into w/out too much trouble?  I know Laguadia and JFK but what about Newark?

Also, we are undecided if we will bring our DD.  She'll be about 17 months.  How does the baby and cab thing work?  I'm sure there are tons of things for us to do/see with her but it is a short trip (~3-4 days) and it is a long flight since we are in So Cal.

Any input you can give would be great!  Thanks!!

Hey.  Depends where you are going to be staying.  If on the west side of Manhattan, then Newark would be better.  East side, JFK or LaGuardia.  You can also take the A train directly from JFK into the city for $2, which is much better than the $40 or so on a car service (more for a cab).

Have fun.  It's a great time to be here.

I have always preferred Newark.  It always seems a lot less hectic (security lines are shorter, curb check-in is less crazy, easier to catch a cab, and a lot less people); but I guess it depends where in NYC you are heading to.
