Celebrated the NY with a few extra friends...

A couple of friends, DH, and I went to OKC to celebrate NYE and the hotel we stayed in had bed bugs!!!  We got to the hotel so late/early new year's day that we just crawled into bed without thinking twice, and now poor DH has gross looking bed bug bites all over his back.  I travel a lot for work and stay in hotels all the time!  I couldn't believe it!  They're pretty gross Tongue Tied

    GROSS!!!  Definitely wash everything you had at the hotel including your clothes and if possible your luggage and the sheets you have at home now.  I would call that hotel and give them a HUGE piece of my mind.

    It was pretty bad. And we stayed in a Holiday Inn Express...not like that matters because I've seen on the news that bed bugs have been in 5 star hotels in Manhattan, but we were shocked.  Luckily we found out while we were still at the hotel so we were able to separate our clothes and we were compensated for the room (as we should have been!).

    Oh NO! Ditto PPs about being very, *very* careful not to bring them home. They are a nightmare to get rid of and they will travel with you pretty easily. I also agree you need to call and complain- that is not ok! Ick.

    ETA: I missed you saying they compensated you for the room. Good! Still make sure not to bring them home, though, and remember that they're sneaky and will hide in anything, not just clothes (shoes, luggage, etc). GL!

    Oh gosh!  That is awful!  I really hope none of them crawled home with you.  They are SO hard to get rid of!
