For those of you worried about not gaining/no bump yet

Since there are so many people concerned about not gaining weight or not having much of a bump yet, I thought I would post this.

I had my 18 week appointment today after my anatomy scan.  I'm only up a total of 4.5lbs since my BFP and I still don't have much of a bump yet.  My OB was not concerned at all because the baby is growing as its supposed to and measuring on track (actually a little ahead).  I asked her about my weight and she said that people just gain at different rates and it probably means I'm due for a growth spurt soon.

Just thought I'd post my expereince to maybe help reassure people who were getting nervous!

  • my Dr was the same. She said as long as LO is growing fine. I've had plenty of freinds tell me don't worry about it and that I will gain soon enough. lol

  • I asked my doctor about this last week. After the appointment she said everything is progressing perfectly and not too worry because I will gain it all soon enough!

  • i asked my doctor about this at my 16 wk appt. my weight actually is up (10-12lbs) which she is happy about because i started out on the smaller size. she said my uterus is measuring on track and that the bump will come eventually. i felt a little better, but i am still waiting for the bump. thanks for posting this, it's good to know that there are others in the same boat.

  • I'm glad to hear everything is measuring on track for you! Lately, I've been more annoyed at my lack of a bump than anything else.My friends and family will ask to see my stomach when we get together (it's cold as all get out here, so I'm normally under many wool layers!), but there's just not much there! I mean, I can tell I'm bigger, but it'll be nice to look pregnant. Then again, that's when the unsolicited stranger advice and belly rubbing will start...

    That's how I feel too!!

I also forgot to say that my baby is measuring at a hefty 11oz as of this morning at my anatomy scan so he seems to be growing just fine!!
