Hi,
Has anyone had monitoring done by a different RE while traveling?
I have my first IUI coming up and did CD10 monitoring this morning, but am traveling from NJ to Ohio this weekend. I won't be able to do bloodwork at my RE's office, but the nurse suggested I find a facility that will do the necessary bloodwork on Saturday and Sunday (CD 15 and 16). Has anyone done this?
I found an RE in Columbus - Ohio Reproductive Medicine. I just wonder if they would be open to doing this for me.
(Just as background - this is an unmedicated IUI. Usually I ovulate around CD17-20, so I'm hoping to be back in NJ for that).
Thanks for any advice!
Re: IUI monitoring while traveling to Ohio?
If it's just bloodwork you need, you can go to any lab - hospital/clinic - wherever you can get in easily. I've done this before. You just bring the lab req from your doctor, and they'll put you in their system and take care of you.
My doc always requested results stat, and the lab reported right to my doc who shared the results with me.
Good luck!

Yep, I was able to get blood work and an ultrasound at a clinic in my hometown so I could go home a couple days over Christmas. Some clinics are really open to doing monitoring for other clinics' patients and they have the process down! My nurse called in the order, and I called the clinic and made sure what time I was supposed to go in and if I needed to bring anything, and also if they took my insurance and how much I'd have to pay. They were great. They sent the results back to my doc fast.
If it's just bloodwork then almost any lab would be able to do it for you.
I go to RGI in Columbus - they have a lab right there and I am sure they would be open do doing this for you! They are super nice and accommodating. Here is their info:

Sorry for the delayed response, but THANK YOU all so much!
I spoke with ORM, but since their blood work is done at LabCorp, my RE wouldn't get the results quickly enough to detect my natural surge for the IUI.
I just put in a call to RGI and they seemed very open to it. I left a voicemail with the nurse there, so hopefully we'll be able to coordinate the monitoring for this weekend.
Thank you again! I really appreciate your help.
