Fill me in on your IVF cycle! I feel like I don't know much about it

You start stims soon, right? Which protocol are you on again?

Not soon enough! I go to RE tomorrow for pre IVF check. Not sure what all that will be. I know were signing papers and this will be my first time to meet the IVF nurse in person. I start Lupron tomorrow as well and my last BCP is the 7th. I think my supression check is on the 12th and if that looks good I will start stims on the 16th. I'm doing long lupron with follistim and menopur. I'm ready to get started and to get the huge bag of meds out of my fridge.

How did your stims go last night? When do you go for your first check?

It will be here before you know it! Are you excited about tomorrow? Janet is really nice! At our pre-IVF check (we did part in the Mont office via video conference and part over the phone with Janet) we just went over the specific protocol, our chances, the chances of having a child with medical issues, signed all of our consent paperwork, talked about how many we would transfer, went over medical history, allergies...that sort of thing. Did height/weight and did cryoscreen draws. Just the usual, typical stuff.

My shot went fine...it is crazy..the anticipation of it all and then it is over so quickly. All of my stims are IM...are yours? We started off with 375iu Gonal-F and 75iu Menopur. I go in on Thursday morning for my first monitoring appointment.

I am excited! And now that you've given me an idea of what all will be doing I'm even more excited. I think after meeting w/ Janet it will feel more real. I'm pretty sure I've already done my cryoscreen so maybe I wont have to have any blood drawn.

You took more than one pack of BCP, didn't you? I have to take two pills out of a new pack and I'm wondering what the point is. I tried getting them refilled the other day so I wouldn't have to pay for them, but insurance denied b/c it was too soon. I'm thinking about asking for a sample pack at the RE's so I don't have to pay full price for two pills.

Gosh, I really hope all my injections are SubQ. I really haven't thought about it, but when I went over them w/ the pharmacist she didn't mention any of the stims being IM. I know my follistim is SubQ b/c it's the prefilled pins. I'll have to go look at all my needles when I get home.

I did have to take two or three pills from the new pack. I know mine was to manipulate my cycle so nothing happened over the time when they were closed. My insurance did pay for it..it was too soon but we explained the situation, they asked for an override and then insurance paid.

I can send you my pills, if you want. I have a ton left. When do you need them by?

The more I think about it the more I think I need to talk to Janet about this. Wednesday is my last real pill and I'm supposed to stop taking them on Friday but are those other two days supposed to be real pills or sugar pills?? I think that my insurance will cover them by Thursday but I may not even need them. Thank you for the offer.

I'm pretty sure they will tell you to take the active pills. That was written down on one of my sheets by both Janet and the NP at the Mont clinic. They made it very clear that I was to get a new pack, skip the sugar pills and take the active pills from the new pack. Of course you should probably ask but that's what my protocol was.

Let me know if you need me to send you the pills...I can! I have absolutely no idea how much BCP cost OOP but I know they covered mine..I'm pretty sure I had DH pick mine up on a Monday and my real pills from my first pack when through like Thursday or something..so I know they did have to do the insurance over ride.
