Just seeing if there are any other Myrtle Beach Mommies on the thread. I am currently 13 weeks along in my pregnancy and looking for other mommies or mommies to be to chat with!!

HI and Congrats on your pregnancy!!! I'm in Myrtle but not yet pregnant. I too have been wanting to meet and talk to local girls since I just moved down here a little over a year ago..
If you don't mind me asking who your doctor is because I have been looking everywhere for a good doctor??
Thank you so much! I am actually using a doctor in Florence right now. Prior to my pregnancy I was using Coastal OB/GYN for my GYN needs. Ms. Karen Rushford is wonderful!

I've been in the Myrtle Beach area for nearly 4 years too!! My husband was transferred to Horry County. We were living in Florence prior to that. Yes, this is our first child. We are so excited!!! Fingers crossed that they will do an ultrasound at our next appointment on Tuesday (18th). :-)

How exciting! Are you going to find out if it is a boy or a girl? If you do ask the technician how often does she/he gets the sex right; I asked that and I think I put the technician on the spot so she was extra careful to make sure she got the sex right before telling me
Are you going to deliver your baby in Florence, or would you eventually switch to a doctor here in MB?
If you still looking for a OBGYN I recommend Dr. Mc Cauley or Dr. Juberg from North Strand OBGYN (men doctors if you don't mind). Pretty much every one I know goes to Dr. Vu but I feel her office is always too busy.
My appointment on the 18th is with a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist. I am hoping she is able to determine sex at that time. The Ultrasound will actually be with the doctor, so I'm fairly certain she'll be accurate!! :-) But I'll still ask how sure she is!!
Yes, I will continue to see my OB and Specialist in Florence. I plan on delivering at McLeod Health. I have a lot of Family and Friends who work for the Children's Hospital and Women's Services. I also want to be close to the NICU if something were to happen. My parents also live in Florence!!

Just wondering how your appointment went on the 18th? Did you see baby moving around? I remembered when we had our 1st sonogram and could identify baby's head , lips and eyes it was pretty amazing.
I hope everything is going well with your pregnancy.
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine doctor didn't do an ultrasound. We ended up going to an elective ultrasound place. We found out we are having a little girl and we are beyond thrilled. The place we went to was so nice. We were really pleased with the service.
Since then I have had another regular OB appointment. They did a quick scan since it took the doctor a few minutes to find the heartbeat. Baby looked great, moving a lot, and a nice strong heartbeat!! We also got a second confirmation that it was a girl!! :-)
We did have a bit of a scare this week. On Wednesday (my birthday) I ended up with some moderate bleeding. I rushed to the OB. After doppler, physical exam, and U/S he determined everything was ok. He said it may have just been a sensitive cervix causing the bleeding. I was soooo scared!!

Yes, I take my son to the aquarium a lot since I get in free bc I'm a teacher. It is very stimulating for him. We also love walking around Broadway and Market Commons. We have been to Waccatee Zoo as well. We haven't done any other activities since he is a little too young for most and it's been the winter time. During the summer, I plan on going to the SC children's museum.
That's great that you get to go for free to the aquarium! The past couple months I haven't been able to do much with my baby outside the house because of the weather, but now that is getting warmer I want to take full advantage of the outdoors, can't wait to take him to the beach, but right now I feel is to windy and I don't want to deal with a baby with sand on his eyes.
Hey! I'm living in Myrtle Beach and I am 6 weeks (will be 7 weeks saturday). This is my second child but my first was 8 years ago, so it feels like I'm starting completely over. I just moved here in August so I don't know very many people and would love to chat!
I am currently living in NC but my DH works in Carolina forest and we are moving there in a little over a month. I'll be 5 weeks on Saturday. I am so excited to get into our house and new town! Very excited to meet other moms. I have a 2 and1/2 year old who's going on 10, and we have a lot of fun! Hopefully we can have mom to be get togethers over the spring and summer!
Welcome ladies!! The Myrtle Beach Area is wonderful and hopefully you'll both enjoy it!! It would be nice to do a get together sometime this Spring/Summer!! :-)

Hi ladies... I'm a new mom (4 month old) and recent relocater (Nov. 2009). We're desperately looking for daycare (center or inhome, or even a nanny share) in the MB area - specifically, Pawleys Island, though Murrells Inlet could work as well. Does anyone have recommendations or know of any resources for finding a nanny share or other families with young ones in the area?
I live in Little River and we are expecting our 1st in October. We are getting excited and starting to make baby plans, but sometimes feel so overwhelmed with where to even begin. Looking foward to learning much from all of you
Well, Sophia decided to make her arrival 11 weeks early!! She was born on April 18th, weighing 3 pounds, 3 ounces. She was 15 1/8" long. She is in the NICU, but doing very well!!

Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. She is precious! I am 27 weeks pregnant, and trying to get used to the heat of the beach, and the extra 20 lbs! I hope everything is going great with your new bundle of joy!

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. As you know my little one was born quite early. She'll be 11 weeks old on her due date (this tuesday). I'm so glad to see some new people posting!!
Anyone do anything fun lately?? We're going to take Sophia to the beach next weekend to take some pictures... we won't be out there too long.

Hello JessLynn3,
You can probably share with us what activities are available for babies around the area?
I was wondering if you've taken your baby to the aquarium and if he likes it?
Pamela
Thanks for the welcome!
