Trouble TTC

luteal phase question

last month was my first month charting after ttcing for about 2yrs and it looks like I only have a 8 day luteal phase, do you guys agree with where FF thinks I ovulated?

i did have progesterone checked on CD22 and it was 15.4....

I was on clomid past 2 months, wondering if I should try progesterone cream  to lengthen my luteal phase, any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Re: luteal phase question

  • I agree with FF.  I don't know anything about progesterone cream, but I've heard ladies taking B6 to help with short LPs too.

  • My LP fluctuates between 8 and 13 days. Most of them end up being between 11 and 12 days, but I have had an 8 day and a 13 day LP. So I would give it a few months of data before you make a conclusion. A lot of women read that the LP doesn't/shouldn't fluctuate but that hasn't been my experience and I've also seen many on these boards with LP's that also vary more than a few days. GL!

I agree.  Give it a few more cycles with charting to confirm your short LP.  I've heard B6 and progesterone cream can help, but after 2 years of ttc, I would get an appointment with an RE.  You are supposed to get a progesterone level checked at 7 dpo; therefore you can't tell much by your level you had drawn at 1 dpo.  Good luck to you.

thanks for the advice, im kicking myself for not charting a long time ago....my obgyn said for me to come in and the next step would be for her to refer me to a RE. So hopefully by then I will have a good 2 months in of charting. thanks for all the advice!!
