Questions after a BFN with IVF

Hi Ladies,

Just a few questions...

How long after a BFN with IVF do you need to wait before having an FET?  My ER was on 12/14, my ET was on 12/17 and my AF showed up on 1/1/11...but the next available appt to "discuss" ou next step isn't until 1/18.

 Also, since I have PCOS I have never had regular periods so I dont know when ovulation would take place.  Can I use the ovulation test strips this month to try naturally (hey a girl can hope right?!)? Wasn't sure if the meds would mess everything up.

My doc makes you take one cycle off between IVFs or between IVF and FET, but I know not all doctors require this. Hey, you might as well try the ovulation tests (or even look into charting your waking temps if you're not familiar with it), but I will say that my post-IVF cycles were pretty jacked! My RE requires a cycle break between treatments. So basically he told me I need to have two "fresh" periods. The one right after our ivf cycle, and after the next one we would start! I cycled in November and will start another fresh cycle in January.

My RE requires you to spontaneously get AF after your BFN and then you prep with either lupron or BCP, which will then be followed by another AF, before you start your stims for a fresh cycle or prep for an FET. So basically, you end up being able to cycle every other month as long as there are no cysts or anything else holding you up.

I'm so sorry about your BFN, those really suck.  My RE always made me have a break cycle before starting the FET just to let things calm down.  Good luck!
