I hope I got that new screen name correct!

I saw that you are reading "Outlander".  I read that 10+ years ago and just last fall read the last in the series. I swear by the time I finished the last one, Jamie and Claire felt like family.  If you like that first book, tuck in for more where that came from.  Some of the books are better than others but overall it's a great series.

If you like that series, you might like the series by Sara Donati that starts with "Into the Wilderness".  It's a quasi-sequel to "The Last of the Mohicans".  There's no time travel but I really enjoyed all of the books in that series. I just looked it up and the last book in that series comes out later this month.  Good to know!

  • Thanks for the Sara Donati recommendation!  I'll have to remember that when I'm finally done with this series.

I had no idea there were so many in the series or that they were so long when my cousin's wife recommended it.  I love it, though!  When she was explaining it both of our DHs and myself were laughing at her, but it doesn't seem so crazy once you're reading it, I guess.  A woman I ran into at a coffee shop overheard me talking about it and said there's a new one coming out fairly soon.  Do you know if there's any truth to that?

  • Did Coffeeshop Lady say there was a new book in th Outlander series (she's mistaken) or a brand new book by Gabaldon (possible)? I'm so glad you're enjoying the book! I can imagine it sounds funny to try and give a synopsis.

  • She made it sound like there was a new one in the Outlander series coming out.  I was kind of wondering since my cousin's wife made it sound like the series was complete.  That would make more sense if she just meant a new book by the same author.
