Parenting after a Loss

Would you be upset?

Last night I knew it was going to be tough for me to last til midnight- but I NEVER have missed the ball drop! Well- I passed out around 10:30 (too much wine) and woke up @ 12:06 am- yep- 6 minutes late.  DH was up the whole time!  I feel bad that he didn't wake me up- I wasn't in bed with pj;s or anything- just passed out on the sofa.  Am I being unreasonable? Or maybe I should have told him that if I pass out to wake me....

  • My DH would have done the same thing unless I had expressly asked him to wake me.  Sleep is precious around these parts!

  • I think my DH would wake me up, but he would only wake me to give me a kiss and tell me it's time to go to bed. That being said, we haven't stayed up to see the ball drop in 3+ years!

    Sorry you are disappointed!

and also, I think if we would have stayed in last night, we would've probably been sleeping at 12. Don't be so disappointed. It really is a new year with new milestones. Life is going to be (obviously) different. It doesn't mean it will be a bad year just because you slept through.  And if your DH makes another comment, tell him it's his fault he was "alone" because he did't wake you.
