I dropped off our valances last Tuesday to get pressed, so I could hang them when family came over for the holiday. The guy didn't know how much to charge, so he had the owner call me the next morning. I asked how long it would take, he said a few minutes. The owner called, I said go ahead and do them, how long will it take? She said she'll probably do them tomorrow (Thursday). So I wait and hear nothing, stop by Friday, but they're already closed, too late to have them up for our party. By today I still heard nothing so I went there, and the lady tells me they're done. I said that no one called me, she laughed and said that they don't call everyone. I never use a drycleaner, is that how they usually do it? She said you just come back after 2 days, but I say that they never gave me a day that it would be done, just "probably". I was just going to pick it up and bring it somewhere else, since I thought they were taking so long I was going to give my business to somewhere else. I am so mad that I could have had the thing last week, but maybe I was supposed to assume that I was just supposed to go get them? Sorry so long!
Re: NBR-Question about drycleaners
DH used to have his uniforms dry cleaned every week. They never called to let him know when they were done but they would give him a time frame to pick them up (normally a day and a half). But they screwed him over like they did to you - didn't tell him when exactly to pick them up and when he went to the store they were mysteriously closed for the day at 11am on a non-holiday Tuesday. He had to borrow a coworkers uniform for that night. Ever since then, we refuse to go to ANY dry cleaners for any reason. Just my two-cents
