I'm in charge of dessert for our News Year Day crabfeed at my SIL's tomorrow. No idea what to bring! Please share your favorite dessert ideas/recipes!!!
Apple Pie is always a hit in my house. Do you have the Joy of Cooking? I use the recipe from there. Only, I use premade crust, bc I'm lazy!
Or, you could make chocolate chip cookies with a twist. Recipe is found on the back of the Nestle's TollHouse Morsel Package. Omit the nuts. Prepare the cookie dough as directed otherwise. Then, Take a mini-muffin/cupcake tin and fill each one about 3/4 full with cookie dough. Bake for 9-10 minutes (at the recommended baking temp on the morsel package). They are done when they are golden in color. Pull them out of the oven and immediately place a mini-reese's cup in each one.
I only have 1 mini-muffin tin, so I usually let them cool for 10 minutes before starting the next batch.
Baby Boy Born 3.15.11. 8lb 9oz, 21.75in.
6 month stats: 20lb 11oz (92%tile), 30.12in.(100%tile - who knew it went over 99th? Which means 100% of other 6 month olds are shorter than mine!)
This one is great too. I made it for the first time this year and it was awesome! Super easy as well
The oreo truffles (1st link) are DELICIOUS. They are truely my pregnancy weakness. I can not make them, because I will eat every single one. But they are simple and DELISH!
The one dessert I make that everyone seems to love (people ask me to make them as gifts) are mint chocolate brownie thingys. They are a little more involved to make, and very rich so cut them small if you make them, but they are really good and really pretty to look at. People thought I bought them for years, just this year they found out I actually make them. https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/chocolate-frosted-mint-bars/c3517498-5649-428f-8401-4f4136d3f38f

Some people consider this a dessert, others consider it a side...but I made it for Christmas dinner and everyone couldn't stop raving about it.
Strawberry Pretzel Salad: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/strawberry-pretzel-salad-recipe/index.html
I omit the pinapple and use an extra cup of pretzels.
It is so easy to made also. I have also made it in a 9x13 pan instead of a 9 round. Just had to shorten the cook time by 10 min. or so.
So make it now and bring me a piece. ok.
