my mom was given a crib by a friend to use for our child when we visit or she is babysitting. The lady that had it, got it for her granddaughter who is now 8. Of course I immediately worried that it would not still be safe. Well I got the model number and crib manufacturer from my mom and just looked it up. Sure enough it was recalled because "because the wooden crib slats and spindles can break, creating a gap,
which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants." No thanks, sorry mom but I don't think that crib will work.

Re: glad I checked
Glad you checked! Nothing says unsafe like babies impaled on crib slats!
I have a drop side crib from O, and I have no idea what to do with it.
