So I went for my 37 week 3 day check up yesterday. I am only 1 cm 50% but my doctor told me that I can schedule to induce on the 10th. Im super excited about that and so ready to not be preggo anymore and to meet my little guy. But....Im starting to get nervous now because reality is setting in and he's really not going to live in my belly forever. My doctor told me that he may even come before the 10th, so whats better, going into labor on your own, when you're not expecting or to know the precise date that you will most definitely go into labor?
Re: Getting nervous...
This.
Of course going naturally is ideal but I would love to be scheduled! I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. We only have one car right now and dh works afternoons. So if I need to go to the hospital between 2pm and 12am.... he has to come home from work, take the kids to grandmas and then on to the hospital... and hour and fifteen minutes away. So ideally, to avoid all the stress of getting to the hospital in a timely manner, I would rather be scheduled.
My first pregnancy I was induced at 34 weeks and it turned out fine. My second, my water broke but nothing happened so they basically induced. And that turned out fine. I am not worried about the risks... either way, I would be just fine with a c/s.
Being induced is not very fun. My water broke at 36 weeks with Aurora but my contractions stopped so they hooked me up to Pictocin. I have heard from other girls that when your body is in regular labor you get little breaks. When your induced you dont get any breaks. I didnt have to have a csection because I started to dilate very quickly after that but everyone is different. You should do what you feel is right for you and your LO.
