I have 20 shifts left until I'm on "vacation" for 3 weeks and then maternity leave for a year! 4 weeks and I'm free.. but still have to hire an assistant manager and 2 part timers before I go. And train them. But then I am free!
Yeppers! Canadian maternity leave is great. I went back at 9 months after my son, but this time I am taking the full year. I'm not going back to retail for xmas next year lol
Just curious....is maternity leave in Canada paid for the entire year, part of it, or none of it? I'm so jealous! I thought my 12 weeks sounded wonderful! LOL
It depends if you have worked enough insuarable hours then the government (ei) pays about 65% of your wage. If you have an amazing work they may pay the rest but they don't have to. I don't work for a company that will pay the rest but I am fine with the 65% that I am getting. Plus we get child tax incentives paid out monthly kind of things as well.
