Cloth Diapering

New to CD - Overwhelmed! Registry help

I am VERY intimidated by cloth diapering. I went to a class about it and there were so many options and instructions I was very overwhelmed! I am committed to trying my best to CD...

So question - I registered for some diaper covers on Amazon (Thirsties). Are these generally good for 1st timers? I registered for

Thirsties Diaper Covers: 2 xs, 2 sm, 2 med, and 2 lg diaper covers

Bummis Super Whisper Wrap Cloth Diaper Cover - 2 small and 2 medium

- do you think that is good to start (for covers) or should I order more or less?

Thanks for you help, I really appreciate it! It's weird, Im not nervous about labor, breastfeeding, or normal new baby things - but cloth diapering scares me!

  • I think 4-6 in each size should be fine.  It also depends on what other kinds you're using....not all need a cover.  So if you only had a few fitteds or prefolds that actually require a cover you could get by with way less.

  • I agree with pp, though I used the thirsties duo covers and really loved those. There are only 2 sizes in those and they grow with baby.

  • Yeah, I think that would be fine. You usually want 3-6 covers in any size in case you need to rotate them due to soiling, etc. But you won't need that many.

It's nervewracking before you get started, then you realize how easy it is.
