those who had an ectopic?

I know I am a little paranoid from my previous loss. I took a pregnancy test on Tuesday  and it was positive. I am now paranoid becuase I have this weird sensation in my right side. Like a warm, burning, a kind of pulling thing going on. I am afraid it may be ectopic. How did you know you had an ectopic? Thanks

Doctor diagnosed it by abnormally rising betas and an ultrasound

I've had an ectopic once - first sign I had was the blood.  Then when I had severe/doubling-over-in-pain type of cramps, that's when they realized it was a ruptured ectopic.  I got PG again in November and had a low beta so they warned me of signs to look for incase it's another ectopic (it ended in a chemical pregnancy, not ectopic) - they said any sharp pain in/right around the belly button or bleeding would be a warning sign. 

Try not too worry too much - I know it's hard - I've been there.  If it would make you feel better - I'd ask your Dr to draw a few beta's to see a # rise... If anything just give them a call so they can calm your fears.  Good luck and chin up!

With my ectopic, I had bleeding like a regular period then continued spotting, which is what led me to test and find out it was positive. My beta levels rose but not the way they should. I bled a lot and passed clots, which originally led me to believe I was miscarrying naturally, but because my betas kept going up they did an u/s and diagnosed the ectopic. 

With my healthy pregnancy, I had the same pain you are talking about.  If you are nervous, though, call your doctor and request betas.

I had an ectopic there were no signs/ symptoms. I had normal rising betas & they found the fetus growing in wrong place at first ultrasound. I had to have surgically removed. With my most recent healthy pregnancy I had severe pain on right side .. Guess it was just RLP .. I bet yours is too Congrats & try not too worry
