Pregnant after a Loss

Help a 1st time mom out (bump question)

I was just googling and not really finding what I want. I am approaching 14 weeks on Friday and poking and prodding my belly like crazy. Apparently my uterus is about the size of a grapefruit or canteloupe but I am not feeling anything hard or rounded like other girls do.  I'm poking around right above my pubic bone and under my belly button - is that the right place? I'm a size 10 with a slight spare tire around my midsection so I thought I'd feel something by now.

When did you start feeling your bump?

  • I don't think I could feel mine for a long time.  Like... 18 weeks?  I kept trying to feel for it, but it kind of freaked DH for me to be pushing around feeling for it.  I probably could feel it sooner then that, just didn't realize that I was feeling it.

  • I could feel mine at 11 weeks- kind of. It was barely above the pubic bone and not very noticeable.  I can't feel it consistently at all, but it usually helps if I'm lying down on my side.  It feels like a flexed muscle, not super hard, and the highest point is more to the right than directly under my belly button.  I'm a little chubby, but it's more of a muffin top so there isn't really any extra "fluff" near the pubic bone for me.

  • i can feel mine and even make dh and one of my bff's feel it too.  I got to 2o weeks in my last pregnancy so I remember what it felt like before.  Before pregnancy I'm pretty much a size 2 or 3 so it didn't take long for me to start feeling around for it.  It has become much more distinct in the last few weeks.  I feel it all the time.

  • I could sort of feel mine for the past few weeks, but I really had to push around and search for it.  Just this week (at 14 weeks to-the-dot) has it started to poke out a little bit to where it is obvious when I just skim over my tummy, but only when I'm laying down.  It's harder to find while standing up.

  • I can find it when I am laying on my back. It is right above my pubic bone and now I can kinda "cup it". DH notices it now when laying down and likes to rub it. Like pp said it feels more like a flexed muscle then a hard ball. When I sat and it goes away and I just look puffy in the tummy... No bump. I hope you find it soon!

  • These stories are making me feel better, too!  I'm a vet, so I'm used to poking & prodding at tummies & have been kind of concerned that I haven't been able to feel anything yet.

  • I can already feel mine but this is my 3rd pg. to make it to the ute feeling stage. it is most prominent in the morning before I get out of bed to go to the bathroom, when my bladder is full.

Also -- try feeling arounf after sex/orgasm. The ute gets really hard and it is really easy to findEmbarrassed
