Possibly stupid question- mov't vs. contraction

I can't tell if I am having frequent BH contractions that I should be keeping an eye on or LO is rolling around in there? How can I tell the difference?

For me, I get crampy around the bottom part of my belly and it wraps around the top part of my belly where it gets really tight feeling and hard to the touch.  If it's a contraction it will last for a little while before going away, the baby rolling should only be a few seconds long.
