Pediatrician Question--

I've finally chosen a pediatrician (!!) and we've chatted and everything. My question is, at this point, do I call the office and set anything up, or just wait until the baby comes in a few weeks and then have info faxed over and an appointment set up?

I had DD at the doctor yesterday and I asked our ped flat out... "When do you want to see the baby after he comes?" He said to just call the office when we get home and they will set something up within 7 days after delivery.

I am pretty sure that there is nothing the office can do until LO arrives. I know our insurance does not give any numbers or anything until the baby is here. I would just wait until you have the baby, then call the office.

My pedi has rights at the hospital where I deliver so he (or someone from his practice) will see the baby while we're still there.  I had to list them on my pre-admission info so that they can send the right people in to see us.

 I think they like to see them in the office within about a week after that, but that was something we just set up like a regular appointment.

Someone from our pedi office comes to the hospital to see our LO. The hospital calls them to let them know that they were born, and then they come do their visit. I then call and set up an appt to bring LO in they after discharged. But of course it varies for when pedis want to first see the baby. But ours is 3 days old.
