I remember this from when I was pregnant with DD. I sat down one day and thought I had broken my tailbone because the shooting pain was so bad! Your baby has probably just dropped down further getting ready to come out. As long as you aren't in labor then everything is probably fine, more annoying than anything else. Good luck to you!!
My girl's head is so far down it's pressing on my lower GI tract too. It's super hard for me to have a bowel movement, and I feel like I literally have a heavy cantaloupe sitting in my pelvis. My hips/pelvis hurt CONSTANTLY, even from the first second I roll out of bed, and I feel pressure down there too.
FYI, if you're in heavy labor and you feel the need to poop, that's the baby. Call a nurse IMMEDIATELY! (You're not there yet, but when you are...)
