TTC After a Loss

OVULATING!!!

okay so i'm kind of new to this. i used to use the app on my phone but i got a new one that didn't have it so here's a little about what's going on. :) it's my first cycle after mc at about 6w last month and i'm pretty excited! it took 6 weeks to get af and i'm ovulating today! we didn't really try very hard this week though. i've been struggling with some weight issues since the mc so we're trying to take it slow. i'm so ready to start and end my 2ww though since they say you're most fertile after a mc. i'm ready to be pregnant again & actually be able to go throught the whole thing! anyone else in the same boat?

  • Uhm, hi...do we know you so we can properly get excited for this?

I don't think you've properly introduced yourself. From cruising your previous posts, I see you haven't. If you are new here, a few tips.

    1) Read the blog in my signature...especially the For Newbies section...

    2) Brace for impact...you're going to get flamed by a lot of the lovely ladies here seeing we don't like phishing (OMGing over ovulating, possibly being pregnant, ect...) without proper support being given to us, and seeing you've never even said hello to us first...well...this isn't accepted. So...I'd brace yourself

    3) Why should we be excited for you when you have not been excited for us or helped us? Give support = Get support. Easy-peasy.

I'd suggest you start over...we don't take kindly to such mistakes.

    So, out I go.

  • Okay I'll bite. How do you know you are ovulating today?  Are you charting?  Is that what you mean by the app on your phone?  Did you use OPK's?  I mean to "know" that you are ovulating today is pretty amazing since you need to sustained thermal shift to detect ovulation.

Or are you basing your O date on the fact that this is the middle of your cycle?  Like that useless ticker in siggy says.  Sorry to be a debby downer, but most women don't actually ovulate on the day that is in the middle of their cycle.  If you chart, I apologize for my snarkiness.

  • I would be more anxious/scared if you were in the 2ww but that's IMHO.  Even if you guys BD at the right times, there's only a 20% you can get KTFU each month.   I would definately use Fertility Finder and chart (if you aren't already) to see what times you actually ovulate.

    5/16/2005: M/C at 7 wks
    5/3/2010: MM/C at 7 wks 6 days
    5/25/2014: CP at 4 wks 3 days

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

This. Also, don't count on getting a BFP just because you are "more fertile after a m/c." There are a lot of ladies, myself included, that have been here for 6 months to over a year. I hope you're not one of them, but be prepared for the fact that a m/c doesn't automatically equal a quick BFP.

::stealing OPs post to answer question::

There have been studies that show that women have increased rates of fertilitiy in the first 1-3 months following a miscarriage.  Theories are that the body is somehow 'primed' for pregnancy.

Of course, this doesn't mean that everyone will get KU immediately...particularly if you are TTA at first... and yes, for some women it will take a long time for that second (3rd 4th etc) BFP.

I have actually heard this as well. They say it's because you're "clean" and healthy, in your uterus at least, and that's why they say you should wait after any birth or m/c so that you don't stack major events on your uterus.

Hey, I'm not knockin your age--I just think it's hillarious that you have a ticker counting down to your next birthday.  Usually Bumpies have tickers counting down to their children's birthdays.  But eh, to each his own.

Maybe if you were a little more clear in your OP, you wouldn't be getting the replies you are.

Think before you type.  And check out the TTCAL blog--link is in my siggy.  If you would have introduced yourself, we would have pointed you in that direction also.

Isn't it just plain common sense that you introduce yourself when you are new, well, anywhere?

Did anyone say you weren't ready to be a mom?  I don't think so.  Step down off your lofty high horse for one second and ask yourself how you would feel if you in a m/c and ttc support group and someone came waltzing in talking about the fact that they are SO fertile and they are ovulating?!  We don't know you...we don't care about the status of your uterus?!  If you want us to care than kindly introduce yourself and support some of the awesome women on here who have endured a loss or more than one and are ttc.  We're a support group not a fan club honey...you want puppies and rainbows than this is not the place for you.  Now simma down!!

You're new, so I think maybe you could use the benefit of the doubt.  it is a serious breach of etiquette to come to a TTCAL board and announce that you are going to be pregnant at the end of the next 2ww, which is, basically, what you did.  That said, again, you are new, so perhaps you didn't understand this.  I admit I posted something similar in one of my first visits to this board -- I posted that I O'd and was really excited and nervous.  (it was a very naive of me  -- I was also under the delusion that the first time out following the m/c would result in a pregnancy - I was so, so wrong).  I was kindly reminded of the fact that no one here knew me, so I needed to introduce myself and get to know others and let them know me.  I didn't really see a lot of "meanie heads" responding to you, although some of the ladies were rather upset with the insinuation that it is so easy to get pregnant  following a miscarriage.  If you stick around for any length of time, you'll see why.  Some of the women here have had multiple miscarriages - they'll get a BFP only to return here a short time later.  Some others will try repeatedly, cycle after cycle, only to keep getting BFNs (that's BIG FAT NEGATIVES) -- and some others still haven't found their bodies willing to regulate following their miscarriages, so they wait weeks - months even - to simply ovulate!  Read the posts.  Get to know these ladies.  Offer support.  They can be wonderful during this trying process, but you need to let them get to know you and be genuine towards them as well.  And by all means, do not come here to gloat if you do manage to be one of the lucky ones who gets a BFP immediately when you start trying again following your loss.

  • i wasn't trying to brag or gloat or give off the idea that i thought i was pregnant. i was a faithful user of TheBump app on my iPhone and it's completely different from the way people respond here. yes, we introduced ourselves, but if someone posted without first introducing themselves people weren't rude or negative about it. i understand you ladies have been through a lot and i'm sorry. i've been through a lot too. everyone has their own tribulations they go through and everyone handles them differently, what's easy for one person may be the hardest thing someone else has gone through. i'm not trying to be all high and mighty, i'm not on my high horse, i just don't understand why people couldn't have simply explained things nicer instead of the way they did.

  • Can't add anything that hasn't already been said (and with much more humor than I have the talent for). Just wanted to say that I love you ladies. Smile Work goes by so much faster when I have access to the boards.

I'm still amazed at the ability to detect ovulation THAT SAME DAY. Man, no wonder why it took me so long to get KUed...my spidey sense that detects ovulation must be whack. Why didn't my RE explain this to me better???

I first got AF when I was 11. Technically, I could've had a baby then. Just because you have a child doesn't mean you're ready for one.

    Just sayin'...

Uhm, hi...do we know you so we can properly get excited for this?
