I mean how far along were you/will you be? I was thinking 30-ish weeks, but is that too early? My sister and aunt want to throw a shower for me and they are asking when would be a good time...

Re: When is a good time for a baby shower?
I think 30 weeks is about right. I know several girls who family waited until the very last moment (like 36 weeks) and they had already had their babies or were on bedrest. Although anything can happen, I would be happier to have it early.
My family had my shower at 32 weeks and the following week I delivered. So you just never know what will happen, it's always better to have it early.
LOL! I was freaking huge at 32 weeks.
I think anywhere from 30-36 weeks is good. You still be mobile and not terribly uncomfortable/tired yet, you will be OK w/ actually being pregnant/having a baby, etc. and you still have time to figure out what's leftover that you still need to get before your LO comes.
I had one at 28 wks, one at 35wks and one at 36wks and I delivered 37wks exact.
The 36 wk one I was very sick so I was miserable, my poor mother thought she was going to have to cancel it. I went to the hospital the night before but thankfully all was fine at that moment.
I was never big so that was never an issue for me. I had 4in heels the day of my 36wk shower, with AE khakis on, although I was so sick and miserable. My motto...the earlier the better because you'll be wanting to get ready and things just start happening so fast and you lose track of time.
I had mine at 30 weeks as well. I know I am getting one at work at 38 weeks though, I am a bit nervous about that one. Another girl at work had a shower at 37 weeks and she was in the hospital that morning, so the earlier the better I think. Plus it gives you time to figure out what else you need get clothes washed organized etc.
Someone's getting a little brother!
I think 30 weeks is a good time. I was 36w6d at mine, and actually ended up going to the hospital like 2 hours after I got home from it and delivered 2 days later. Until that day we had close to nothing for the baby-- just furniture, pretty much.
I feel like such a brat saying this, but I was not happy about my shower being so late. I told my hostess any time before 32 weeks was fine with me, but somehow it got pushed back to almost 37 weeks. Honestly, you don't *need* much in the very beginning, but it's super stressful having to set things up, wash bedding and clothes, etc. the day you get home from the hospital (in our case), or really at any point toward the end of a pregnancy. You just want things to be ready for baby so you can focus on him/her once you're home.
I had mine at 33 weeks and had LO the next day my sister (the hostess) joked that DD saw all the gifts and decided she didn't want to wait to play with her stuff.
For the same reason if you are planning on doing belly pictures, I would suggest scheduling them earlier rather than later!
