No dr appt until January 21st

I just found out I am pg and it is very early on (about 4 weeks).  I called Park Nicollet in SLP to make an appt and they don't want me to come in until January 21st.  Is this consistent with what others have found?  ANy recommendations for other clinics/ob-gyns' in SLP as this makes me a bit nervous.

You'll be about 12 weeks then right? My practice (Southdale OBGYN) wants to see you between 8-12 weeks. So it sounds about right.

Yep, I should be 12-13.  SHe tried to get me in a bit earlier but everyone was booked.  Guess I'll have to be patient:)

I tried scheduling an appt at the SLP one last week and they said they weren't taking new patients and I had to go to a different office.  They told me 9-12 weeks before the first appt too.  From what I can tell, that's not too unusual - it seems strange at first though.

My clinic schedules the first appt. around 8-10 weeks so it does not seem too far off. I remember being surprised at first as well.
