Pregnant after a Loss

::ambrandau2:: and any other future heparin injectors :)

First one done, and not so bad.  Here's what I learned - ice & sterilize the area just like Lovenox.  The injection didn't hurt - Lovenox still hurt from time to time, but no stinging on this.  Things to know - alcohol swab the top of the heparin bottle prior to inserting the needle; no air bubbles in the needle, so you have to get rid of them; measuring was a bit confusing (although I am a blonde) - if you are on 5000 units/day, then you have to look at the needle size (1mL cc) and heparin strength (mine is10000 units/mL) and figure it out (in my case, that equates to the "50" mark on my needle).  Hope this helps!  And that I did it right and don't start bleeding like a bad horror film Devil  lol...

Thanks again to all the ladies who answered my questions earlier!!

  • Thank you, I'm bookmarking this.

I'm glad the first injection is over for you - that's always the hardest one!

  • Thanks for the advice! Not that I'm partial to Lovenox, but I'm nervous to switch to the unknown.
