I had my 4 week check of my IUD. The NP could not find the strings, so I was sent for an US. Urgh.
Mirena was sideways in my uterus. 1 side was OK, the other was embedded into the endometrium lining, on the verge of pushing through the uterus wall. I was sent right into the drs office and she pulled it.
Unfortunately it is one of the side affects. She said if it happens once, the chances go up it will happen again. I am no longer a candidate for IUD. I am bummed. i really wanted a no think birth control.
she sent me home with 3 months of yaz, and a follow up appt in 2 months to discuss what my plan is for long term. with all the craziness of my life I am not sure if I can remember the pill.
Any suggestions on a birth control option that is not an IUD, and not a pill?
Thanks!

All these horror stories about Mirena's are scaring me.. yikes! I have never been able to be on the pill because my life is way to crazy to remember and I was on the depo shot for 3 years while in high school but it made me gain weight like crazy (60lbs over those 3 years) my OB doesn't even recommend it because it does that and other side effects
I had an Implanon and liked it a lot. I got it taken out because we were TTC and had no issues with it. I had a bit of spotting in the beginning and my arm was bruised/hurt for a few days getting it in and out but otherwise it was awesome fool-proof BC.
I was also on Nuva Ring and liked that but I kept forgetting to put a ring in and ended up PG and had a miscarriage because I just couldn't remember!
