travelling with flips=no bueno

We got back the other day from an almost 12 hour car ride.  We had DD wearing flips and she had two blowouts.  Booo.  We are gearing up for another 10+ car ride in two weeks and I am trying to figure out what would be best. 

 

Maybe, just maybe, someone on here can suggest that FITTEDS would work best and I would have to order some sbishes

That's a bummer.  We love travelling with our Flips.  Were you using cloth inserts or the disposable?

ditto this.  We also have done a lot of traveling with our flips and no blow-outs.  We use the organic inserts..

My goodness-how could I argue?  

We had the stay dry inserts-I am not sure why we had the problem but the second time it leaked all down her pants and it is really hard to catch or even see that it is a problem when we are driving.  I felt terrible after I got her out and realized it

I won't take DS out of the house in a Flip. We have had more leaks/poop up the back with them than with anything else. Also I tried the disposable inserts one trip and it was a disaster. I spent the trip washing poop out of the covers in the hotel bathroom sink and hoping they would dry before we had another blowout.
