I love the name for a girl. I had it on my list until a cousin named her girl Emorie. I would use the name if the relative wasn't so closely related. Oh well I still have lots of others to choose from.
It's trendy right now, but I love that it's a family name. Emory is more masculine while Emery is considered unisex. I hesitate at changing a family spelling, so I'm not sure which one is your grandfather's spelling.
I love that it's a family name too. Grandfather's name was spelled Emory, but I was also worried it might come across as masculine. However, seeing them both spelled out in writing makes me lean more towards Emory.
I do worry about the association with the college, but every name seems to have some association that some people make with it. This naming thing is sooo hard!
Re: Emory/Emery?
It was on my list until my husband gave it the boot
I still like it personally, I was going to use the nickname Emmy.
