Multiples

When did you first feel movement?

I'm almost 17 weeks along. I have no idea what movement feels like (besides the fluttering that everyone describes). Is it too early for me to feel some movement?

When did you feel movement with your multiples? What did it feel like?

Re: When did you first feel movement?

  • I had an anterior placenta so I didn't really feel kicks until about 25 weeks. It's a very cool feeling and very exciting but trust me, especially with 2 in there, savor the time with things quiet for the moment. Before you know it they will be kicking and fighting and turning and twisting and rolling and you'll be completely taken over! lol
  • I started feeling movement..flutters/vibrations at about 15 weeks, and kicks just started about 3 weeks ago at 19 weeks. The first two weeks the kicks started they were random and just enough for me to feel. Xmas night (22 weeks) DH was able to feel them from the outside and they definately kick more even this week then they did last week.

Although I still have no idea which is kicking

  • I had an anterior placenta with both my single and multiple pregnancies.  Hudson was my only normal placenta.  : )

I started to feel movement with both pregnancies around 22 weeks.  I always felt Hudson way more than I did Emerson or Landry.

  • At about 15 weeks, I could feel movement - it felt like a ball slowly rolling across the inside of my bump, it never felt like flutters to me!  At 18 weeks I was feeling some pretty good kicks, they didn't hurt, but they were obviously kicks and at 19 weeks DH could feel them.
  • not until 20 weeks.

  • I felt flutters around 13/14 weeks. The first official kick I felt at 17w exactly. Do you know of the placental positions? DDs was posterior, and coincedentally the first one I felt kick. DSs was anterior and I did not feel him nearly as much as I felt her. HTH!

  • I started to feel movement around 17 weeks, but I never really felt the "flutters" people always talked about.  Some of my biggest first movements were me sitting at my desk and my pants that felt fine 2 seconds ago, would suddenly get very uncomfortable!  That was the babies switching positions right at my waistband!  Then the official kicks started....it kinda felt like those little muscle spasms you have in your leg.  I could see and feel the kicks from the outside around 21 weeks!  SO EXCITING!  Now they are kicking my ribs and kicking so hard it jolts me sometimes.  I remember laying in bed every night starting about 12 weeks, PRAYING to feel anything at all!!!!

One is anterior and one is posterior. I'm pretty sure I know which ones which. Over the last week, every once in a while I'll feel what I can only describe as a pulsing (kind of like a gentle punch), in the area of the posterior placenta baby.

Anyways, given that this is my first pregnancy, I have no clue what to expect because I've gotten little aches and twitches from the very beginning.

  • I think by 20-21 weeks I was really feeling it. But PP is right, enjoy it now. I know you can't wait to feel all the kicks and movements, but there is a baby crushing my rib cage as I type this. It is uncomfortable and painful. Her little bottom is wiggling away. Once you start feeling them moving around, it never stops :)
  • I could see them move before I felt them move.  Around 17 weeks, I woke up and someone's head was poking up beside my belly button, causing a giant bulge. In the following days and weeks I started to feel things. Now, at 21 weeks, they are going nuts constantly -- there is nothing like being kicked after every angle!
