DaVinci Cribs

Hi Ladies,

I'm popping over from June 2011 (posted this there too, and was advised to seek your help!) and was hoping you could give me some advice -

Does anyone have a DaVinci crib, or know anyone who does?  They look great online - solid wood with nice finishes, nice-looking matching dressers/changing tables, fairly reasonably priced.  However, I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them in-store, so I've never actually seen one.  BRU, Amazon, and Target all sell them, but online-only.  They seem to get great reviews (the one I like is the Kalani style); just looking for anyone else's experiences.

Thanks!

Re: DaVinci Cribs

  • We have a DaVinci crib and it's been really nice.  However, according to my DH, it was a PITA to put together, lol.  It's held up really well, DS slept in it through his second birthday, and now we'll be using it for this new baby.

  • We have the kalani in espresso. It was easy to put together and is a nice solid piece.  Haven't had the baby yet so can't speak to how well it holds up.  My brother and sister-in-law have it in white and it still looks great after over a year.

  • We just put together our DaVinci Parker crib and while we haven't used it yet, I love it :)  I was frustrated too that I couldn't see it in person, but I put it on my Amazon baby registry because I figured that would be the easiest place to return it if need be.  Thankfully there's no need!

  • We got the DaVinci Kalani in ebony and just put it up over the weekend.  It looks really nice and seems very sturdy.  DH had no problem putting it together.  I only had to help hold a few pieces and it went up in well under an hour.  We also got ours on Amazon.

I have heard that while the DaVinci cribs are very nice and a good bargain to stay away from the rest of their nursery furniture because it isn't as high quality for the price you pay.

  • After reading many excellent reviews, we ordered the DaVinci Kalani crib, dresser and changing table in the Espresso finish and I love it.  The finish is beautiful and it all seems solidly built, although it has not gotten any real use yet until LO arrives.

FYI...I ordered it from simplybabyfurniture.com where I got FREE shipping and NO tax, which saved a bundle!  They also had great excellent service.

  • We bought this DaVinci set, https://www.simplybabyfurniture.com/0263085253.html for our DS, born in March 2009.  I was impressed with the quality.  It's held up well.  I have another DS on the way in March 2011 and I bought the DaVinci Richmond crib/furniture in expresso.  As another person said, we bought it from simplybabyfurniture.com and had a great experience.  That's why I went back for the 2nd one.

    Good luck!

  • We have the DaVinci Emily  in cherry, crib and changing table and have been using it for 2 years almost and it has held up really well. The crib is better quality than the simple changer, which cracked when we put it together! But overall for the price, I say it is a very good value.

  • The DaVinci Emily is a Consumer Reports "Best Buy". If you join Amazon Mom (it's free) and order from there, you get free shipping, free returns and no tax. I think this is the one we'll get, though I also like the look of the Kalani as well.
