PIP: do you like this print for this dress?

OK, so now that I've sewn with voile, I am in love with it and I really think that fabric will suite this dress pattern that I bought a couple months back!

I have a hard time figuring out prints though. The solid above is a bit too boring, and this version with a big print is fantastic (but I don't know if I could pull that off)!

What do you think of this Anna Maria Horner print for it?

Too busy? Not busy enough?

  • Honestly, I like solid better, but I have a classic style when it comes to clothes.  I like the bolder pattern, and don't really love the small pattern you have PIP'd, BUT I don't think I'd pair the bold pattern fabric with this style of dress, the second fabric would prob look better.

I think the style of the dress has enough of a statement that you don't need to make a big statement with your fabric too, kwim?

I agree with pp. Maybe you can liven it up with chunky colorful bracelet and neckace?
  • If you want to still go a little bolder with it, what about a nice deeply saturated jewel tone in a solid?  Like a deep teal or royal purple?

    Big E (6) & Little E (2.5)

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Not a fan of the print...
